29-08-07 - The Angels start to fall in November in HOPE FALLS

[?]

After five months of online buzz, HOPE FALLS, the five part supernatural thriller by creators Tony Lee and Dan Boultwood is finally available to order in the SEPTEMBER PREVIEWS - SEP073850.

Already garnering critical acclaim from both reviewers and professionals alike, HOPE FALLS is the tale of Helen, a small town waitress who returns to the town she was murdered in, twenty years after her death.

But although the four men involved have moved on with their lives, Helen hasn't aged a day and has a wealth of new powers in her arsenal as she returns for one reason only - vengeance . And, as the body count starts to rise, we discover a shocking secret - Helen is an Angel, free-falling from Heaven in a search for revenge and each one gained is a step towards Hell. She is falling, and only one man, the enigmatic Michael can stop her.

But as the story progresses, Michael himself discovers that there is more to this than a simple killing - and that this is part of an Angelic conspiracy that goes all the way back to the time of Christ. Can he stop her, and more importantly - should he stop her? And with dark forces siding against her, will Helen even manage to complete the job?

"I wanted to write something a little different." Explains series creator Tony Lee. "I had been writing a lot of spandex or sci-fi, and I wanted something a little bit more cerebral. HOPE FALLS came out of that darkness. It's not an 'a to b to c' type of tale, and the twists start from pretty much the very first scene."

With a long background in the industry writing properties like Starship Troopers, Midnight Kiss, Doctor Who, X-Men, Amazing Fantasy, Wallace & Gromit, Shrek and upcoming books with Walker Books, Moonstone Publishing, Antarctic Press and AiT/PlanetLar, Tony Lee is rapidly approaching a breakout year in the industry. And with HOPE FALLS, he's starting out of the gate fast.

"If I had to put it as a high concept? I'd say it was Twin Peaks meets The Crow by way of the Da Vinci Code." He explained. "I have people who know the plot, yet don't realise that there are about five or six subplots that twist and turn around the main one. It's a subtle build up, and I've had several critics already state it's some of the best work I've ever written."

Joining Tony on HOPE FALLS is longtime friend and 'Two Drunk Guys In A Bar' collaborator Dan Boultwood. The two have worked together twice before, on the cancelled APC pulp noir parody The Gloom and the G.P Taylor Illustronovella The Tizzle Sisters.

"Dan is incredible." Harry Markos, Publisher and Managing Partner of AAM/Markosia explained. "He has really matured his style for this book, and I think this will make him a household name. Already editors from big name publishers are taking interest in this comic. And the fact that Dan and Tony know each other so well means that the story flows seamlessly. This could be the surprise hit of the year."

With incredible painted covers by 30 Days Of Night and Scatterbrain artist Szymon Kudranski, this five part series has already garnered praise from the industry.

"Tony makes me laugh every time we hang out - it figures such a funny guy can also write such scary $*#<!DOCTYE html PUBLIC "-//w3c//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3c.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd" > Markosia Enterprises Press releases
